YO
HO!
Welcome to The Great Maine
Lumberjack Show, one of New England's premier
edu-tainment centers! Our unique, home based,
permanent logging sports facility is nestled
in the picturesque Maine woods in Trenton, the
Gateway to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
In the 1870's,
the Down East Acadia Region was one of America's largest logging
ports. Maine's towering white pines were highly coveted for their
use as 'tall ship' masts, as well as board lumber that helped
to settle our country.
Following
the long winter's cuttings and the dangerous spring log drive,
the boastful lumberjacks challenged one another to the "Olympics
of the Forest", a re-enactment seen at every Great Maine
Lumberjack Show!
Every evening
at 7:00 PM you can still hear the Cross Cut saws singing in
the
forest, just as you would have seen in a logging camp competition
in the Maine woods over 100 years ago! But with a modern twist
mixed with history, lots of comedy, 'thrills & spills' and
non-stop, razor-sharp action! 2007 prices $8.25/Adults, $6.25/Children
and Under
4 is free.
To add to
the excitement, there are always 2 teams of athletes challenging
one another in the competitions and YOU will get involved by cheering
your team on! We encourage fun! Here are events you will see:
